PROGRAM GOALS
Do you believe God is calling you to be equipped to serve others for the cause of Christ? Never before have the opportunities for serving God been so challenging. To be truly effective in ministry requires a teachable heart, a disciplined mind and skillful hands.
The Master of Arts in Ministry is designed as a graduate level program to equip individuals for church and parachurch ministries with a focus on the spiritual formation of others. These programs are designed for those already involved in ministry as well as those who have a bachelor's degree and desire further graduate studies to enhance their future service.
These graduate level programs teach students to be reflective practitioners by promoting a continual dialogue in biblical studies, theological studies and spiritual formation studies. The continual dialogue between these areas of study provides the students with both an increased understanding of the role of biblical and theological content in spiritual formation as well as a theological orientation to pressing ministry concerns.
The Master of Ministry program is uniquely designed with you in mind. Classes meet one night a week and provide you the opportunity to complete your ministry degree in less than two years.

ABOUT The Program
This program is offered in partnership with the Institute for Biblical Community Development, a mission organization housed on the JBU campus in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. The program will target Christian leaders and development workers for the purpose of equipping them to better understand holistic ministry and to carry out biblically and theologically grounded community development work in impoverished communities. The coursework incorporates the leader's role as a facilitator of social change together with the skills of development technology and the understanding of how communities adopt new ideas (world-view change) that lead to behavioral change and sustainable development. A major emphasis of the coursework is to utilize the biblical understanding of human beings and the appreciation of human dignity and potential as a real catalyst for holistic development.
The program is a partnership between JBU and the Institute for Biblical Community Development with 24 hours of coursework being offered by the JBU Graduate Ministry Program and 12 hours of coursework being offered by the Institute for Biblical Community Development.
